Issachar Helman is born 1965 in Israel. In his young age his singing capability has already been discovered. He evolved his voice and studied chasanut with his teacher Yizchak Eschel.

At the age of 17 he became First Chasan at the Synagogue in Ramat-Gan. 1984 he was appointed as Chasan in the well-known Tiferet Zvi Synagogue in Tel-Aviv where many great Chasanim did perform before.

Since his election 1991 as Oberkantor (First Chasan) at the Israelitische Gemeinde Basel (IGB) he lives with his family in Basel.

Issachar Helman has a clear and lyric voice, which he uses in a masterly way. Together with his skill of correct pronunciation he is able to give the Prayers the necessary warm touch with which he can reach the hearts of the whole audience. With his sensitive song he tries at any moment very hard to be a real Cantor in order the Prayers may reach G’ds Place in Heaven.

Issachar Helman is on duty at The Great Synagogue of the IGB together with the Choir every Shabbat and an all Festivals. He travels often to invitation concerts in Switzerland, in Europe in Israel and to the USA.
